Homeless Healthcare’s ‘The Hub’ - a worthwhile investment

Latest research from the Home2Health team at UNDA, has shown that Homeless Healthcare’s comprehensive primary care for people experiencing homelessness significantly reduces acute and expensive hospital use.

Following support from the  Homeless Healthcare Hub, there was a 40% decrease in Emergency Department presentations and inpatient admissions, and the number of admitted inpatient days halved. With pressure on the WA hospital Emergency Departments and beds at an all time high, the research shows that providing comprehensive continuity of primary care is a cost effective investment, and significantly reduces the high rates of hospital use associated with homelessness.
