WA Vape Retailers Close Following National Legislation
A new study led by the Home2Health team at the University of Notre Dame Australia has quantified the impact of national vaping reforms on retail outlets in Western Australia. The study found that all 117 dedicated vape stores closed after the 2024 legislation restricted sales to pharmacies, and a further 76 retailers that once sold vapes have stopped doing so. Alarmingly though, several inner-Perth convenience stores were still caught selling vapes illegally, even months after the reforms were introduced.
