Australia’s first medical respite centre for people experiencing homelessness who are being discharged from hospital opened in Perth in 2021. Funded by the Department of Health and operated by Homeless Healthcare, the MRC provides short-term accommodation to enable individuals to rest and recover in an safe and therapeutic environment following hospital discharge.
